Tony Holden, South Norfolk Councillor came out with our volunteers on Sunday evening on the 9th August – Anon-Feeding the Homeless. Tony and his wife came to see what tasks we carried out in our work of feeding on the street at our static point where we serve hot food, hot and cold drinks, pastries, sleeping bags, toiletries etc. We also have our two Street Teams who go out around Norwich and find the guys who are sleeping on the streets, give them food and sleeping bags as and when required, but ultimately Tony came to present us with our Covid-19 Community Heroes Award.

We accept this Award knowing that our group are just a small number of people helping the vulnerable and homeless of Norwich during this pandemic and throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and volunteered over the past few months. We couldn’t have done it without you.

At the height of the pandemic we were cooking for 45 people twice a week, a hot main course and a hot dessert, along with snack bags that contained a sandwich, a drink, a chocolate snack bar, fruit and water.

We also supplied toiletries as and when needed.

Throughout the pandemic we received donations from Norwich Foodhub, who have surplus food donated by supermarkets etc. Also we received donations direct from supermarkets such as Waitrose and Morrisons.

The general public were also superb, sending donations to us every week.

We are now back out on the streets supplying food every Sunday, so we still need food to continue to do this 52 weeks of the year.

This is our Amazon Wish list

Also you can get in touch with us on Facebook and we can arrange to collect food and/or toiletry donations, if you are unable to deliver to us.

THANKS ALSO for all the supermarket bags you have donated to us. We need these for our street guys to take their food away with them.

Once again. Thanks to everyone.
