Exhibitions

Welcome to the Exhibitions Archive.

HISTORY relating to the early days of the EXHIBITIONS.

The first exhibition was in 1991 and it was held at Norwich City football Club in the Board Room on a Sunday, the day after match day. In 1991 we had 16 stands. In 1994 we had 22 stands and 280 people visited us.

The exhibition was held on a Sunday in those days, as Norwich City played on the Saturday. One day in 1995, I received a telephone call saying Norwich City had to cancel our booking as the television people wanted to change the football match day to the Sunday, because it was to be televised. Well I ask you, fancy turning us down and choosing SKY broadcasting!

I had to find a new venue, quickly. I looked around, and finally contacted The Hewett School. To this day we continue to hold our exhibitions in the South Hall, accessible from the Hall Road entrance. We now hold the exhibitions twice yearly, in March and October. We have progressed from those early days of 16 stands to 77 stands in 2006 and In the October 2006 the exhibition attracted approximately 1200 visitors.

Since those early days we have held the Mind, Body, Soul fairs at the Hewett School and it has turned out to be a truly successful venue for us all.

Once again, we will be holding a Drawing Competition for the Children, so those of you whose children have entered the competition before - tell them to come along and draw us another picture. Details of the theme will be announced closer to the weekend. Andi Pandi always seems to come up with unusual and interesting themes which the children appear to enjoy interpreting. The pictures are judged in three age groups 4yrs to 7 yrs, 8yrs to 10 yrs and 11yrs upwards

There will be a Book token awarded to the winner of each age groups. Here are the winning pictures from March 2009

So mum and dad, tell the children ... the theme for their drawing will soon be on the website. You can then all be thinking about what they would like to draw before the weekend comes.

"Imagine that every emotion or human characteristic has its own angel .. for example there is a:
Delighted devil, an
Angry angel, a
Trusting angel, a
Restless angel, a
Controlling angel, an
Out of Control angel, an
Optimistic angel, a
Sad angel, an
Agreeable angel, a
Lonely angel, a
Playful fairy, a
Knowledgeable angel, a
Comfortable cherub, an
Exceptional seraph,
Repellent reptilian thing, a
Free Spirit, an
Argumentative angel, a
Safe seraph, a
Danger loving devil, a
Demanding angel

Draw two of these angels.. or maybe create two of your own.. and put patterns on their wings that show how they feel.

After completing your picture .....Don’t forget to WRITE YOUR NAME, AGE AND TELEPHONE NUMBER on the BACK of your finished picture. Then hand the picture to the people on the front Admission desk in Hall 1.

The winners of each age category will receive a £5 Book token and the pictures will be displayed on this exhibition page a few days after the exhibition weekend.

***************** ******************** ********************* *********************

John Levine Alphamusic is an Australian composer who is attending the exhibition for the first time. His work sounds very interesting, and this is an article he wrote that was published in the Eco Echo this month.

How to Cope with Credit Crunch Stress.

Statistics from the International Labour Organisation showed a rise in unemployment to 1.86 million in October 2008. However the number is predicted to reach 2 million in the beginning of 2009 and even more by 2010.

You are probably wondering what's next? What shall I do? I just got an eviction notice, I just lost my job, my company went bankrupt! I had to fire 300 of my employees! I am on the verge of losing my job! I cannot sleep, cannot eat, my health has deteriorated! How can I fight the recession and my own family and financial problems!

'When you act irrationally, you stand to lose big time!' claims Alphamusic composer, John Levine. Let us focus on the example of bank. When you hear that your bank was a victim of the credit crunch, what is your first gut reaction? PANIC! FEAR! Your brainwaves go into the Beta stressed fight-or-flight state, your stomach churns, your heart rate increases, you can't sleep, you sweat, your mind is swirling with thoughts of personal disaster, you can't think straight, the first thing that comes to mind is 'Quick! Take my savings out!' 'Just think what would happen if everyone panicked?' John continues; 'Now in this great crisis we all need to stay calm and think carefully and rationally. Being in a peaceful Alpha brainwave state is the answer!'

John Levine is an Australian composer of the sound he calls Alphamusic. He has developed a special formula to create soothing melodies, helping us all stay calm and happy despite being in the middle of financial crisis. John has been interviewed on BBC TV 'Look East' and Channel 9 TV Australia showing how his special Alphamusic settles classes of children, calms babies and stressed people and even puts budgies to sleep in daylight!... 'Its all to do with changing the Beta stressed brainwaves to calmer Alpha waves', John smiled. Being in the Alpha state means you are more peaceful, have better ideas, your mind acts rationally. When we wake up in the morning after a good night's sleep, we are refreshed and have our best and most insightful ideas. This is the state we call Alpha. But it is easily interrupted by listening to all the bad news we hear daily, dealing with everyday challenges. These get us wired up, causing our brainwaves to be pushed into the Beta stressed/fight-or-flight state, to keep going up until we get into panic mode!

Facing the problem is a nightmare for some of us, but what if we had a little help from a simple thing such as a CD? John asks 'Why not listen to EEG proven Alphamusic CDs rather than hitting the bar, drinking, trying to forget your fears? Better to be in an Alpha state and solve your challenges, stay calm, happy and healthy?'

Alphamusic of John Levine is used and widely praised by a significant range of biomedical and complementary health professionals. Patrick Holford, the world renowned nutrition expert, personally endorses and recommends John Levine's Alphamusic.

John will be giving a Workshop entitled: "How to cope with Recession stress and anxiety". See Workshop times above.

October 2008 Children's Drawing Competition

The children were invited to... "Imagine that any Colour you can think of has its own Angel.

Maybe the Angel for bright Red would be triangular, always know what he wants and want it now.

Maybe the Angel for White would be cloud shaped, always tell people what they want to hear, believe himself that what he tells them is true, but never bother to consider that if anything he says really makes any sense.

Choose any Colour that you like and draw a picture of that Angel. And say what he/she would do and say..."

The children produced some wonderful pictures and these were judged by Shirley and Andi Pandi the Colour Reader. He always comes up with some interesting topics for the children to draw.

These are the children who drew the winning pictures, and they will receive a £5 book token.

Ali Desouky, Elizabeth Blissett, Gemma Beesley and Lauren Hammond.

I would like to thank all of you children who entered. Andi said it was a difficult choice, there were so many beautiful drawings. It was wonderful to see the childrens imagination in full flow. We hope you will draw for us again at the next exhibition in March 2009.

15th & 16th March 2008
Mind - Body - Soul

We had a great turnout to the weekend, thanks for attending even though we had horrendous rain and wind on the Sunday.

Childrens' Competition

The theme of the competition is shown below and the children were fantastic. Their imagination was wonderful, and we had some beautifully creative pictures, so it was difficult to chose the winners. In fact there are two age group 7-9 winners because the judges couldn't make their minds up, so both children will get a prize.

Thank you children for drawing us such lovely pictures, and if you haven't won this time, we hope you will draw a picture for us at the next exhibition which is in October.

Our thanks go to Hannah English who was a visitor to the exhibition and Andi Pandi the Colour Therapist who comes up with these great ideas for the competitiions, for judging these wonderful pictures the children create for us. The judges could not agree on the age group 7-9 winner so we have two winners for that group.

The theme of the competition was

"Different letters of the alphabet make different sounds... see below .......... winning pictures from HERE.

You can VIEW the childrens' creative winning pictures from HERE.

The winners in the age categories are:

4 to 6 years: Aimee Lowry, age 6

7 to 9 years: Georgina Benson, age 8 and Lisa Neil, age 8

10 years upwards: Cassie Frances, age 13

Raffle Prize winners All raffle ticket winners have been contacted and either spoken to personally or left messages to get back to me to learn what they have won. Thank you for supporting the Childrens' Hospice at Quidenham.

LOST PROPERTY Has someone lost an umbrella? We have one that was left at the exhibition. Contact me and let me know the umbrella colour.

It would be good to get some feedback from you after your visit to us. So why not email me and let me know your thoughts and maybe some suggestions to improve on what we have to offer over the weekend. There is always room for improvement. Thanks once again for your support.

Details re the March 2008 Exhibition

50p off Admission cost. See below for details..

DON'T FORGET - WE HAVE TWO HALLS FOR YOU TO BROWSE AROUND.

Update Saturday 15th March......... We have had approximately 400 visitors enjoying what the exhibitiors have to offer. The Egyptian massage has been expecially popular. The Pharaon is a new exhibitor this year and from all reports is well worth a visit. Rhassoul Clay has been popular also and Sally told me that there will possibly be lots of people applying this clay to their bodies tonight. The mind boggles! We have lots of regular attendees and some new ones, so it's always good to come along because you might find something or someone you haven't seen before.

There is lots to see and do and if history repeats itself we will be in for a great Sunday.

The raffle which is in aid of the childrens' Hospice for Sick Children is selling well. It will be great to send some more money to a very worthwhile local charity.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

The Children's Competitionis up and running. Not too many entries as yet, but we have Sunday to go, so we look forward to more children drawing some creative pictures for us

The theme is very interesting ........ here it is.........

Different letters of the alphabet make different sounds...22 of these sounds are ah, b, k, d, ee, f, g, h, j, y, l, m, n, oh, p, qu, v, w, z, ch, sh and th.....Maybe there is an angel or a little god for each of these different sounds.....Maybe the Angel for "ee" runs around in circles with his arms up in the air, just enjoying life and going "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee".

Maybe the q angel is a cow goddess who from the very beginning of time has brought into existence every thing - all of what we can see today, but squeezed one tiny grain at a time through the eye of a needle, so that it has taken a countless millions of years to get here - for us to see all the flowers and stars, and dolphins and rainbows and all of the rubbish in your dustbin...

So, imagine yourself what one or more of the angels, gods or goddesses of the other sounds might do and look like - Then draw a picture of them and write anything that you like about them.

Judging of the pictures will take place on Sunday afternoon Age categories: 4 to 6 years, 7 to 9 years, 10 years upwards

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

It would be good to get some feedback from you after your visit to us. So why not email me and let me know your thoughts and maybe some suggestions to improve on what we have to offer over the weekend. There is always room for improvement. Thanks

CHILDRENS COMPETITION

The children appear to enjoy entering our competition which we have run over the past couple of fairs, so we thought we would offer them another chance to show us how creative and imaginative they can be, with a chance to win a Book Voucher prize.

Paper and colouring pens will be in the Refreshment area for the children to draw their pictures.

Dont forget to write your Name, Age and Telephone Number on the back of the picture. Please give the completed pictures to Terry and Shirley at the Admissions desk which can be found at the front of Hall 1. The pictures will be judged by independant judges at the end of the day on Sunday. We look forward again to seeing some more lovely pictures.

13th and 14th October 2007 - Exhibition information.

The weekend is nearly here and all the stands are booked and awaiting your visit. It is great to welcome back some regular exhibitors who have been with us for quite a few fairs.

The Exhibitions are held in the South Hall at the Hewett School, Hall Road entrance, Norwich.

These are called Natural Healing or Mind, Body, Soul Exhibitions. It is the aim of the exhibitors to share with the general public the natural ways in which you can help your body to be healthy. The stands attending the weekend are a selection of what is available within the complementary health field. We also have a selection of Readers.

As each new exhibition comes around I always endeavour to offer to our visitors new exhibitors and their therapies etc. It is always great to keep our visitors wanting to come again and again, because they know they will see something new and this is what we aim to offer each time.

The comments I received recently came from a person enquiring about when the next exhibition was, "I am always pleasantly surprised to find I enjoy my visit every time I come, because each time there is something new to see and experience, I am never disappointed!"

There are 2 HALLS exhibiting over 70 stands.
There is HALL 1 with an UPPER and LOWER level exhibiting 41 stands, and HALL 2 with 32 stands.

Who knows, but let's hope this has made it clear for all.So here are direction to . . . . .

HALL 2, Workshop room, Toilets, Refreshment room and Childrens' Competition area.
From Hall 1, facing the stage, take the stairs on your right and turn left into the corridor which will take you to the Workshop Room, Toilets and Refreshment area. You will find the two entrances to the Refreshment room on your right, where you will find liquid refreshments and vegetarian food. The Childrens' Competition is in the refreshment area at the farthest end, opposite Hall 2. You will find paper and crayons for the children to draw their pictures.

At the bottom of the corridor on your left there are stairs which lead down to HALL 2. These stairs are opposite the 2nd entrance door to the refreshments area where you will find the childrens' competition.
